Self-Defense & Firearms

§1. Overview

A. This chapter governs the use of force and items which inflict force, such as firearms. This chapter is relevant to combatives and civil personnel with legal access to a firearm.

B. Foundation Personnel have a privilege of self-defense and may possess firearms they legally own as outlined in the Civil Firearm Regulations.

§2. Self-Defense

This section outlines the circumstances and manner in which personnel can defend themself with force.

A. Foundation Personnel may defend themself with their fists or any weapon they can legally possess.

B. If no combatives are present, Foundation Personnel may defend themself when:

C. Foundation Personnel must not seek confrontation so they may defend themself, but have no duty to retreat, and may stand their ground in the above situations.

§3. Civil Firearm Regulations

This section regulates the possession and use of firearms by non-combative Foundation Personnel.

A. You may only carry a firearm provided by a gamepass you own. Foundation Personnel must not pick up weapons dropped by others.

B. Foundation Personnel must handle their firearm in a safe manner, and only use their firearm in situations permitted in Section 2.C. You must not:

§4. Combative Use of Force

This section is only relevant to combatives. It is not necessary for other Foundation Personnel to read this section.

This section regulates non-lethal (handcuffs, beanbag shotgun, pepper spray, etc.) and lethal force (firearms, explosives) by combative departments.

A. Any force may be used on Class-Ds as regulated by the Class-D Solitary & Termination Criteria.

B. Given all other measures have been exhausted, Class-Ds being used as cover by armed rioters may be shot through to terminate the rioters.

C. Lethal force may be used on any individual to prevent imminent death, containment breach, or massive site disruption. Apprehension of rogue personnel should be prioritized.

D. Combatives may use force and apprehend any individual threatening site security and safety, regardless of their intent. Examples include:

E. Combatives may kill another downed combative for a tactical advantage, referred to as "mercy kill" or "tactical heal."

F. MTF unit Delta-1 may use any necessary force to protect their VIP, as governed by their internal regulations.

G. MTF unit Eta-9 may use any necessary force to effectively protect, contain, and maintain the pacification of SCPs, as governed by their internal regulations.
